Wondering what the official theme song for World Cup 2010? While many are confused with the official World Cup song, you are lucky because coming at the right place. For your information, the song was co-written and performed by Shakira and is called Waka Waka (means This Time for Africa). I tell you now that Knaan “Waving Flag” song is not the official one. It is just one of the many songs for the World Cup 2010.
I’ve nothing against Shakira or anybody. But does it seems fishy to anyone else that the official song for the World Cup in South Africa will be sung by a Colombian lady? True, she’s backed up by South African band Freshlyground, but it’s very much Shakira front and center here. You already the song, now move on with the Waka Waka lyrics.
You’re a good soldier
Choosing your battles
Pick yourself up
And dust yourself off
And back in the saddle
You’re on the frontline
Everyone’s watching
You know it’s serious
We’re getting closer
This isnt over
The pressure is on
You feel it
But you’ve got it all
Believe it
When you fall get up
Oh oh…
And if you fall get up
Oh oh…
Tsamina mina
Zangalewa
Cuz this is Africa
Tsamina mina eh eh
Waka Waka eh eh
Tsamina mina zangalewa
Anawa aa
This time for Africa
