Japanese Rice Field Art – Since 1993 the farmers of the town Inakadate Japan, in Aomori Prefecture, plan their crops of rice to the achievement of unusual works of land art. Apparently the local farmers planted the seeds in a precise arrangement, alternating kodaimai those of rice varieties, red and yellow leaves from those of Tsugaru-roman variety, the green leaves, so as to obtain the giant two-color images as that their crop is growing.

The creation of this year is from the collection of prints “Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji” by Hokusai, Edo period Japanese artist acclaimed, drawing and art, erupted in July, will remain visible for a little while because the harvest is scheduled for September. The harvest is usually scheduled for September 25 each year, is an occasion of celebration for Inkadate, where every inhabitant of the town is invited to participate, as well as any foreigner wants to join.
