Top Beaches in Ibiza | With noteworthy beaches covering almost every inch of Ibiza’s coastline, it can be difficult to choose which ones to cram into your itinerary. From every resort a beautiful beach is only a short drive or walk away, suitable for every taste, from secluded coves to busy beaches. Here is a guide to help you choose: which of Ibiza´s beaches should top your list?
Cala D´Hort
Cala D´Hort, on the southwest side of the island, is a true treasure. Popular with young couples, European families and local retirees, the beach is one of the most tranquil and relaxed in all of Ibiza. The biggest plus-point is its unobstructed view of the spectacular Es Vedra island. The rocky, limestone formation is Ibiza´s most beautiful natural spectacle, which many claim has a unique mystical energy radiating from it. Sat on the water’s edge, staring at the island, as the sun goes down, will be a highlight of any trip. To many, Cala D´Hort features the best views on the entire island, which is reason enough to spend at least one night on this part of Ibiza.
Santa Eulalia
Santa Eulalia is Ibiza´s third largest town, situated on the east coast, by the sea. It is popular for those seeking a quieter break, mainly populated with families, the retired and young couples. There are many hotels in and around the town, catering to each of the different needs. Invisa Hotel La Cala in Santa Eulalia, Ibiza is one of the over-18s only hotels, perfect for romantic breaks and business trips. The serene palm tree-lined promenade stretches along the length of the soft, white sandy beach, suitable for paddling and snorkeling due to the calm swallow waters. There is an exclusive yacht marina, some of Ibiza´s best restaurants as well as busy shopping areas, all of which can be enjoyed day or night at a relaxed pace.
Las Salinas
Situated on the southern-most tip of the island, a short ride away from Ibiza Town, is the iconic Las Salinas beach. Although popular with all walks of life, it is known for attracting the rich and famous. The span of soft, golden sand is surrounded by nature; sand dunes, pine forest and, most famously, vast salt flats. It is a trendy area with modern restaurants and bars, where the relaxing daytime atmosphere turns lively as the sun goes down. Because the wealthy tend to vacation here, there are plenty of wonderful hotels available on Expedia. Las Salinas is not short on luxury and provides a wonderful holiday for all who venture to the area.
Playa d´en Bossa
Just outside Ibiza Town, on the south coast, is Playa d´en Bossa, Ibiza´s longest beach. This is not its only claim to fame however, as it is also, arguably, the most famous. The soft, pale sand, full of sun beds and parasols, are backed by an array of beach-side bars. Playa d´en Bossa is the place to find the best of Ibiza’s signature daytime party atmosphere. By late afternoon all is in full swing. It is the home of daytime super club Space, as well as many chill-out bars, boutiques and restaurants. The famous Bora Bora open air beach club can also be found along its shore. Those who are looking for a quiet beach holiday should look elsewhere, but those who are looking for fun and excitement will be right at home on Playa d´en Bossa.
Cala Bassa
To the west of Ibiza is the popular family beach of Cala Bassa. It can be reached by a pleasant ferry ride from close by San Antonio Harbor. It has some of the clearest, cleanest waters found anywhere on the island, with a protected area for swimmers, away from the water sports and boats coming in and out of the bay. At both ends of the soft, golden sandy beach are large rock formations, which attract dare-devil jumpers who use the rocks at platforms to dive into the clear water below. A pine forest borders the beach offering shady areas away from the midday sun.
